Patient - How it Works

Finding Healthcare

01 - Initial Search

Start your search by typing or selecting a specialty, condition, procedure, specialist, clinic or scan that you would like to find information on.

02 - Filter Preferences

On the following search results page, you can set your preferences to order your results based on what matters most to you. Filter by location, review score, likes, insurance coverage, price and language to find your ideal provider.

03 - Investigate & Engage

Opening a healthcare profile page allows you to see procedures practiced, qualifications, publications and a overview of clinic facilities and prices. You can also help others by leaving your own review after your appointment experience.

Booking Options

How do I book an appointment?

Once you have found the healthcare provider that you want to visit, follow these simple steps:

01- Smart Calendar

Check out your selected providers availability by opening their smart calendar.

02 - Select Date & Time

Select the preferred date and time for your appointment. If no appoinments are presented, the 'Request Appointment' button will appear.

03 - Select Insurance

Let the provider know whether you have health insurance or whether you will self-pay your appointment.

04 - Fill out Appointment Card

Let your provider know the reason for your visit and leave your name, mobile number and email. We provide optional fields such as your HKID/Passport number to help speed up your clinic waiting time.

05 - Pending Appointment

Once you have sent your booking, please wait for your provider to approve or cancel your appointment.

When a booking is approved, an email will be sent with your appointment information and clinic map. You can view the status of your booking and information from your appointment dashboard.

If your appointment is cancelled, your provider will be prompted to fill out a cancellation response, suggesting alternative times and further instructions.

If you don’t have an account with Medifinder you will be prompted to sign-up for 100% free booking account. We take no commision for bookings from patients, we act only as an efficient connection between you and your provider.

What if the doctor has no availability?

If a healthcare provider has no availability or you don’t find the time that you are looking for, please request an appointment. Follow these simple steps:

01 - Request Button

Click the “Request Appointment” button directly from the search page or via the providers profile page.

02 - Appointment Card

Fill out your appointment card to assist with a prompt response from your provider; name of patient, email, phone number and reason for visit is required. Please feel free to book for relatives by including their details this in the 'reason for visit' text box.

03 - Optional Info

The HKID/Passport number are optional fields to improve the efficiency of your request and waiting time for your appointment.

05. - Provider Response

Healthcare providers will usually call or email you within 24-48 hours to offer you a time for your appointment. We recommend to follow up with your selected provider by phone to confirm if you do not receive a response within 24 hours.

Cancelling an appointment?

To cancel an upcoming appointment follow these simple steps:

Log in to your booking manager and select the appointment you want to cancel and hit “cancel”.

Your provider will receive an automatic cancellation email. In most cases, providers will call back to reconfirm your cancellation and check to see if you would like to reschedule.

We know that your schedule can change quickly, but please try and give our specialists as much time as possible when cancelling an appointment.

Can I filter consultations by price?

We have a price range bar to filter your lowest and maximum price for consultations. Providers will showcase their lowest initial consultation price which can sometimes differ from follow up appointment prices.

Providers booking times not showing?

Healthcare providers need to update their calendars with their availability to showcase timeslots. In some cases they may be very busy. In other cases they may have forgotten to upload their availability. However, in any case you can request an appointment with providers and they will usually contact immediately or within 24-48 hours.

Can I book for a relative?

Yes, book or request an appointment as though you were doing it for yourself and then specify whom the appointment will be for in the ‘reason for visit’ box.

Why can’t I see my review?

We have a strict policy towards false or misleading reviews. We will remove your post if we deem it inappropriate, or a claim from the provider points out a breach in our review policy.

If a provider makes a claim about an inappropriate review, we investigate and decide to either keep or remove a review based on our policy.

We do this to make sure that our reviews are useful for future patients, whether they are positive or negative.

Not received an email confirmation?

Sometimes emails take a few minutes to arrive depending on your providers security. It may also be that the email has gone into your junk folder. All appointment bookings and requests can always be found via the ''Appointment Manager''.

Why do you need my location?

We ask for your current location to show you doctors and health specialists in your area. This helps you to find convenient appointments which require minimal travel time.
